Ferro Phosphorus alloy is a ferroalloy, which is an alloy of iron and phosphorus. It contains a high proportion of ferric phosphide, Fe2P, and Fe3P. Ferrophosphorus is used in metallurgy as a phosphorus source for alloys, for the deoxidation of melts and the removal of unwanted compounds from slag. Ferro Phosphorus is a by-product of the carbon reduction of apatite in submerged arc furnaces to produce phosphorus. Ferrophosphate is formed from iron oxide impurities.

In the steelmaking process, Ferro phosphorus can be used as an effective deoxidizer, which can react with oxygen in molten steel, reduce the oxygen content in steel, reduce the hot brittleness of steel, and improve the quality of steel. At the same time, it is also an important alloying agent. Adding Ferro phosphorus to steel can significantly improve the strength and hardness of steel, especially in improving the atmospheric corrosion resistance of steel. It is often used to produce high-strength structural steel, rails, etc.
