The Silicon Carbide is an inorganic substance with the chemical formula SiC, which is smelted at high temperature by a resistance furnace with raw materials such as quartz sand, petroleum coke (or coal coke), and wood chips.
The silicon carbide added to the furnace is converted into carbon and silicon of cast iron, which increases the carbon content and strengthens the reducibility of the molten iron. Greatly reduce the adverse effects of corroded charges.
