Product Description
Calcined petcoke is a product of petroleum coke calcined at high temperature, which has the characteristics of low sulfur, low ash, high purity and high conductivity.
In the process of aluminum electrolysis, calcined petcoke is mainly used to make pre-baked anodes and anode paste. It is mixed with a binder (such as coal tar, etc.) in proportion and made into pre-baked anodes through processes such as kneading, molding, and baking, or made into anode paste and added to the electrolytic cell for self-baking molding. It becomes the key raw material of the anode due to its high carbon content, good conductivity and high temperature resistance. It not only provides an electron transmission channel for the electrolytic reaction, but also consumes itself in the reaction. In addition, its quality significantly affects the oxidation resistance, conductivity and mechanical strength of the anode. High-quality calcined petroleum coke can reduce the entry of impurities into aluminum liquid, reduce harmful gas emissions, reduce anode resistance, stabilize the electric field and thermal field in the electrolytic cell, reduce current fluctuations, improve current efficiency, extend the service life of the electrolytic cell and reduce costs.
