Synthetic graphite is graphitized petroleum coke.Graphitized petroleum coke (GPC) is a high-quality carbon material obtained by high-temperature graphitization of petroleum coke. Petroleum coke itself is a product obtained by distilling crude oil and converting heavy oil into a product through a thermal cracking process. Its main component is carbon, accounting for more than 80%, and it also contains a small amount of sulfur and metal elements. Graphitization treatment increases the average thickness and width of the carbon grid flake grains of petroleum coke, reduces the inter-layer spacing, and makes the lattice constant close to that of natural graphite, significantly reduces the resistivity, and increases the true density accordingly.This product is a high-purity graphitized petroleum coke with a carbon content of 98% or more.
Graphitized petroleum coke(GPC) has a wide range of uses, including the production of high-quality steel, cast iron, alloys, high-temperature crucibles, lubricants, electrodes and pencil leads.
