Calcined petroleum coke has a high carbon content (fixed carbon can generally reach more than 90%) and is a high-quality recarburizer. It can effectively increase the carbon content of the molten metal and improve the strength, hardness, wear resistance and toughness of the casting. For example, when producing ductile iron, the appropriate carbon content helps to spheroidize graphite and improve the quality of the casting.
