| Characteristics |
Ferro Silicon manganese alloy is an alloy composed of manganese, silicon, iron, a small amount of carbon and other elements. Silicon-manganese ore is blocky and has a silver luster. Ferro Silicon manganese alloy is produced by using carbon to simultaneously reduce manganese ore (including manganese-rich slag) and manganese oxide and silicon dioxide in silica in a submerged arc furnace. Ferro Silicon manganese alloy has the advantages of low melting point, large particles, easy floating, and good deoxidation effect. Silicon and manganese work synergistically to quickly remove impurities such as oxygen and sulfur in molten steel, generate low-melting point compounds that float into slag, and significantly improve the purity of steel. Ferro Silicon manganese alloy strengthens performance, and manganese can refine steel grains, improve the strength, hardness, wear resistance and impact toughness of steel.
| Uses |
1.Ferro Silicon manganese alloy is mainly used as a strong deoxidizer in the steelmaking process because it produces MnSiO3 and Mn2SiO4 (which float on the slag due to the low density of large particles).
2.This indispensable compound is also used to increase the burnout rate during deoxidation. The burnout rate of ferromanganese is only 29%, while when using Ferro Silicon manganese alloy, the burnout rate is about 37-46%.
3.Ferro Silicon manganese alloy can be added when producing medium and low carbon ferromanganese.
