Product Description
Ferro manganese is an alloy composed of iron and manganese, typically containing around 80% manganese. Ferro manganese is primarily used in steelmaking to counteract the harmful effects of sulfur. Additionally,Ferro manganese serves as a deoxidizer and binds with sulfur, thereby preventing the formation of low-melting iron sulfide, which significantly enhances the hot-working properties of the steel.
Ferro manganese has emerged as the most widely used deoxidizer and alloying additive, owing to its outstanding performance and cost-effectiveness. When added to molten steel as an alloying element, manganese significantly enhances key mechanical properties, including hardness, ductility, toughness, and wear resistance, resulting in steel with superior overall performance and durability.
